The padded cover seats over the front of the seat, and it slips when one edge rides out of its fitting or when the harness straps press it from beneath. Seat the cover from the bottom up, press each edge into place, and check that the straps pass through their openings rather than under the fabric. If it still slips on the move, look for a stretched seam at one corner and reseat that corner first, because one loose edge pulls the rest off. Reseat the cover before each ride so the front stays closed and warm.

The mesh window rides behind the front panel of the hood, and it sags when the panel above has worked loose at one end or the fabric is twisted at the side rail. Smooth the panel square with both hands and run the hood through its full travel once, so the fabric reseats along the frame. Check that the window mesh itself is not caught under the panel edge, and free it with a fingertip rather than pulling hard. Do not pin the panel, because it needs to move with the hood. Reseat it before the next ride.

Lift the end of the stroller with the noisy wheel and spin it by hand to find which one is affected. Brush dust and hair away from the axle, and check the hub for a trapped stone or a build-up of grit, which is the usual cause rather than wear. Most squeaks come from dry dust, and a clean axle quiets them. Keep oil away from the wheels, because it attracts fresh grit that wears the axle faster, and check the swivel front hubs especially, because their pivot holds a half-seated wheel longer than a fixed axle does.

Pull the adjuster strap straight out from the seat rather than at an angle, because the slider only draws the webbing when the strap runs true. Check that the shoulder pads have not slid down and jammed the slots in the seat back, and lift the pads clear before pulling. If the webbing still will not draw, look for a twist at the buckle, because a twisted strap locks the slider instead of feeding through it. Feed the webbing back evenly after each adjustment so it does not bunch, and confirm the buckle closes with a click before the ride.

The mesh basket hangs from the frame tubes, and a heavy point load pulls the walls down toward the wheels. Keep the load light and spread it flat rather than piling it at one side, and sit the bag low in the center so the rim takes the weight. Reach in from the side openings rather than pressing down through the seat, because pressing from above stretches the mesh at the front edge. If the walls still sag, check that the basket hooks are seated on the frame rails and push them back on before the next ride.

The gold-tone tube wipes clean with a damp cloth, but marks set in when they dry through a few rides. Wipe the frame after a wet or muddy walk rather than at the end of the week, and dry it with a soft cloth so water spots do not sit on the finish. Avoid solvents and scouring pads, because they dull the tone and leave the frame harder to clean next time. Check the underside of the tubes near the wheels, where road spray lands first, and keep the stroller out of damp storage so the finish keeps its warmth.
